On 8 February 2019, H.E. Mr. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador of Thailand to Ethiopia, and Mr. Tsegaye Abebe, Royal Thai Honorary Consul in Addis Ababa, led the delegation of the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thai boxers to meet with Mr. Erstu Yireda, Commissioner, Federal Democratic of Ethiopia Sport Commission. The discussion had involved the promotion of Muaythai in Ethiopia. In this occasion, "Krudin", Mr. Wittawat Ka-Som, the Muaythai Master of Lanna Fighting Muaythai Camp and the students of Thepbodin Wittaya School, had demonstrated the arts and the training of Muaythai to all participants.

Currently, Muaythai is one of martial arts practicing in Ethiopia but still in the beginning phase. Ethiopia and Thailand have agreed to cooperate in promotion of Muaythai in Ethiopia as well as to increase more exchanges in sports as a whole.

เมื่อวันที่ 8 กุมภาพันธ์ 2562 นายเชิดเกียรติ อัตถากร เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงไนโรบี และนาย Tsegaye Abebe กงสุลกิตติมศักดิ์ไทยประจำกรุงแอดดิสอาบาบา ได้นำคณะเจ้าหน้าที่กรมสารนิเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และคณะนักมวยไทย เข้าพบหารือกับนาย Erstu Yireda กรรมาธิการกีฬาแห่งเอธิโอเปีย เพื่อหารือแนวทางการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านกีฬามวยไทยในเอธิโอเปีย พร้อมกันนี้  "ครูดิน" วิทวัส ค้าสม แห่งค่ายลานนาไฟท์ติ้งมวยไทยและนักเรียนโรงเรียนเทพบดินทร์วิทยาเชียงใหม่ พร้อมคณะนักมวยไทยได้สาธิตศิลปะมวยไทยและการฝึกกีฬามวยไทยให้ฝ่ายเอธิโอเปียได้รับชม
